BIO WAREHOUSE EXPANSION - PROJECT BRIEF

CFR Group was chosen to complete a new warehouse expansion in Gladesville with specific client requirements, including bulk storage facilities, freezer & cold storage facilities and controlled conditioned cooling to the warehouse area.

Following consultation with CFR Group, an agreed scope of works and budget were formulated to maximize value outcome, meet the client's new requirements, and fully utilise the facility during the project.

PROJECT SCOPE

The scope of works included design of a new warehouse and modification and refurbishment of existing warehouse, which included authority approvals such as council application, construction certificate, BCA consultation, and PCA consultation.   

The construction work included the new warehouse coolroom, freezer, loading dock, lunchroom and amenities. The storage areas included new high bay racking and long span shelving. Service trades included specific hydraulic and mechanical requirements with electrical work to include ATS changeover switch works and dedicated generator switchboard installation to suit load requirements.

PROJECT DELIVERY

The project was delivered on a Design and Construct basis; careful planning was the key to the successful completion. Highly specific service requirements including maintaining constant temperatures of -22 deg (minus 22 deg) for the freezer and 4 deg (4 deg) for the coolroom had to be managed, together with an existing switchboard upgrade to incorporate the new generator connection requirements. Detailed coordination allowed the warehouse to remain fully operational throughout the modifications to the existing and installation of new infrastructure.

RESULT

The project was a complete success. The warehouse was in operation throughout the modifications, extensive construction, and services works. The project was delivered on time and on budget.
